There appears to be a somewhat large percentage of the human race that needs to create drama all the time. It's like breathing to them--second nature. Drama hounds. Need to create conflict, gossip, find fault, manipulate, etc. Waste more damn time doing all that crap than they do just working.
I own a small landscape company. People complain about the smallest things.
Why is the lawn yellow? ...............................Well...it's 90 degrees out and hasn't rained in three months.
Why aren't you here at the same time every week?................ If it rains, I get backed up and it changes my schedule.
Why can't you do my job today or tomorrow?.................... You are not the only customer I have.
Why isn't my grass green after I paid for fertilizer? .................It takes 2 weeks or more with lots of water to green up.
I'm a senior citizen, why don't you give me a discount?........... Why should I? The cost and labor is the same if you were 25 or 85 years old.
Why is your company so small? .....................................It allows me to serve you better and control costs. If you want, hire the larger outfit and pay more for the same service.
Someone gave me a cheaper price for the same job. .....................Why don't you hire them if the price is cheaper? Most of the customers lie about receiving another estimate.
Customers that complain about nothing are the worst. I try to bend over backwards for them but after a while they tire me out and I cancel the service.
These customers are the same ones who when given an invoice pay you two months later.
it's been 12 years since i first read ray franz's books and the scales came off my eyes.
by that time i was in my forties.. since 2002 i went back to school and have worked with 3 very professional organizations.
but my biological clock is ticking away and while my peers are looking forward to retirement, i am only beginning.
wannaexit
Hope you are doing well !
Just think of the millions of married couples who divorce after so many years together. Just think of all the years you wasted at jobs you didn't like and now you find one you like. Just think of the many years spent with friends and then you no longer speak to each other or hang out.
The Watchtower life is the same. Things change and what was important in your life then is no longer important now. Try not to think of all the hours spent in book studies, field service, assemblies, Kingdom Hall meetings, personal study and Bible studies. It will drive you insane if you had the count the hours that you spent working for the WTBTS. They are nothing but slave drivers. If it ain't you slaving for them, they will find a new one.
My uncle was an Elder for close to 50 years and died with no '' paradise '' anywhere in sight. Who knows how he felt at the end of his life after dedicating all his life slaving for the WTBTS?

It would have been nice to hear who his parents were, how many brothers and sisters he had, what kind of employment he had throughout his whole life, where he lived and moved to and anything else to make him stand out and show that he was an individual and not just a church member.

A FUNERAL OR MEMORIAL SERVICE?
Some have thought that a funeral is for the purpose of eulogizing the deceased, for the purpose of speaking well of such a one and giving him what is known as a "good death." But is this correct? Remember that Jehovah God permitted the nation of Israel to weep over Nadab and Abihu, the two sons of Aaron who perished because they offered illegitimate fire—although their immediate family was forbidden to mourn them.—Lev. 10:1-7.
.....As a rule death causes mourning. In particular, it is comforting to hear a discussion on Jehovah’s marvelous attributes, especially his great love in providing his Son as a ransom so that mankind can have the hope of everlasting life. Aside from personal expressions that they may feel impelled to make, those in attendance bring comfort to the bereaved by their very presence.
There is also the matter of giving a witness to Bible truths.Usually a funeral is attended by neighbors, acquaintances, business associates and relatives, who may not be believers. All these stand to benefit from a funeral or memorial service at which a discourse is given presenting the Bible view as to the condition of the dead, why men die and the hope of a resurrection. Because of such fine purposes being served, it seems that a Christian minister could see his way clear to conduct the funeral of a Witness’ unbelieving relative—or even of one who, in a condition of extreme despondency or mental derangement, had taken his own life. And fellow Christians could extend comfort to the bereaved Witness by attending.
And further, when a service is held for a deceased faithful servant of Jehovah God, the occasion could well be used to note that one’s integrity-keeping course in spite of all manner of obstacles. (2 Sam. 1:26) True, as Mark Anthony said in his famed funeral oration: "I come to bury Caesar, not to praise him."
I haven't been to any meetings in over 3 years. I will no longer go inside a Kingdom Hall for any weddings or attend funeral talks. They only benefit the WTBTS as an "infomercial'' to recruit new members.
My wife and I attended a funeral Saturday for a wonderful friend of my family . His family and my family have been friends for over 40 years. He was a wonderful family man and was respected by all members of the congregation.
The family of the deceased decided to have a funeral talk at his one day wake since he was going to be cremated the next day. The funeral talk was for 7: 30 p.m. I had no choice but to stay and listen since we arrived around 7:00 p.m. to pay our condolences to the family.
The funeral talk started off with where he was born, how he met his wife and what year they married, names of his children, and what year he was baptised. That ran for about 5 minutes. The last 25 minutes were about how he become a Jehovah's Witness, what his favorite scriptures were, how he served as an Elder and how all his children were Jehovah's Witnesses.
They did not euligize the deceased. They used it as an '' infomercial " for the benefit of the WTBTS. Shame on them for using this sad occasion for the benefit of recruiting. Anyone there in attendance that wasn't a Jehovah's Witness should shudder at what came from this awful and shameful talk.
they simply refuse to think, to reason, to ponder.
they are lazy!.
even if they might feel that something isn't right, they won't research an issue or a question.
think it's the truth : after being told numerous times it's the ''truth'', you start believing it
family : families tell other family members
lazy : just like a bird doesn't want to leave its nest, Jehovah's Witnesses like to stay where they feel comfortable
first religion : born into the religion, why leave when that's all you know
why leave : the WTBTS may be right
it's a club : just like a bowling club or playing cards, you meet people that have the same interest
fear : where will i go to now and family will no longer associate with me if i leave
going through the motions : been a Witness so long you sleep walk after every meeting and field service
too young to leave
have privilages that are hard to leave

Dear Mr. Herd,
Thank you for that wonderful talk on ''the woman's role of subjection, submissiveness, pleasing and filling the needs of man." I tried that on my wife but for some reason she wants to hit me on the head with a frying pan when I mention your wonderful talk.
My Witness mom has been in ''subjection'' to my non-witness mentally abusive dad for close to 56 years. She worked and handed him her pay checks. He decided who their friends would be, where they went, and where they lived. He never liked going on vacations, going to the movies, going out to restaurants, and told her that she couldn't learn to drive a car.
She never had her own money. He decided on how much she would spend on clothes and groceries. She even had to ask him for coffee money while at work. We saw the fights that they had where she would cry and not argue because she believed your stupid views.
My dad would yell, scream and call her names over the 56 years of marriage. She would never dare to talk back to him. She lived in fear of my dad because she was a ''good'' Jehovah's Witness who was taught the stupid role of subjection to her husband. She always wanted to divorce my father but was fearful of the Elders and the WTBTS. She did everything to please him but he was the man you want every woman to marry.
Mr.Herd, my mom is old and very sick and wished she left him a long time ago. She stayed in an awful marriage because of fear. She will never get those 56 years back. Please don't let other woman stay in a marriage in '' subjection, submissiveness and filling the needs of man.''
after 140 years of preaching and millions of books, magazines, and tracts, all the wtbts has to show is a measly 7 million members.
the mormons, baptists, pentecostals and many other religions have more members without the preaching work.. in your opinion, is 7 million members way too many for all the odd beliefs, doctrines and practices ?
or, should be more members since they have had over 140 years of being in the religion business?.

this thread is for you to vent about anything (within guidelines) that you want.. i'll start.. i'm sick of people who complain about how cold the weather is and then you have two 85 degree days and now they can't wait till autumn!.
cell phones, iphones, texting
Why is it that everytime I go out to dinner with friends and family, everyone is playing with their cell phone, texting or playing games on their iphone? Everyone has a cell phone in their hand and has a hard time putting it down while talking or eating.
I tell everyone to please put the phones away. I can't stand it when you're talking to someone and they are halfway listening and halfway playing with their phone. I have threatened friends and family that I will leave the table if they don't put the phones away.
One time I met my cousin's new husband. He sits down next to me. I try to make small talk to try to get to know him. The whole time he's playing with his iphone and hardly listening to anything I have to say. So, I decide to stop talking to him and walk away. Now when I see him I just say hello and walk away as far as I can from this rude person.
EVERYONE......PLEASE PUT THE PHONES DOWN!!!!!
i try ... i really try to watch football (soccer) ... it's world cup time ... i really do try.. i just don't get it ... i really don't.. yes, it's a world-wide sport.
in most countries it is the number 1 or number 2 sport ... no doubt about it.
it's maybe number 5 in the usa for professional sports.. from an american's perspective (i think i speak for many), we just wonder if these guys actually have testicles.

You said this about American football fans :Its designed for people with the attention span of a goldfish.
That's a bad generalization of American football fans!
"Hooligans in the UK are not football fans?" If not, what are they? Why does soccer have riots all over the stands and field? Why are referees chased all over the field fighting for their lives?
